Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and Anthony D'Ambrosio (“Corvyn”, “we”, “us”) for using the Corvyn app and website. We've tried to write them plainly. Please read them, especially the sections on health, exercise risk and our liability.
1. Agreeing to these terms
By creating an account or using Corvyn, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. If you're using Corvyn on behalf of someone else, you confirm you're allowed to accept these terms for them.
2. Who can use Corvyn
- You must be 18 or older. We ask your birth year during setup and may close accounts that belong to anyone younger.
- You must be able to form a binding contract and not be barred from using the app under the laws that apply to you.
- Corvyn is designed for generally healthy adults. It isn't designed for, and shouldn't be used as part of, a clinical or medically supervised weight-loss program, or by anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding, has or is recovering from an eating disorder, or has a medical condition that makes dieting or exercise unsafe, unless their doctor has approved it.
3. Your account
- You can sign in with Apple or with email. Give us accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your sign-in secure. You're responsible for what happens under your account, and you should tell us right away at support@corvyn.app if you think someone else has access to it.
- One person per account. Don't share your account or create accounts for other people.
- You can export your data and delete your account at any time from Settings in the app.
4. Wellness, not medical advice
Corvyn is a wellness app. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Targets, meal plans, workouts, body-fat figures, trends, coach replies and everything else in the app are general information and estimates to help you make your own choices.
- Talk to a doctor before you start a new diet, change your calorie intake significantly, start a new exercise program, or take supplements, especially if you have a medical condition, an injury, or take medication.
- Never ignore professional medical advice or delay getting it because of something you read or were told in Corvyn.
- Body-fat numbers are estimates from formulas, not measurements. Resting heart rate and other Apple Health data are shown as wellness information only.
- If you think you may have a medical emergency, call your doctor or emergency services (911 in the US) immediately.
- If you're struggling with your relationship with food, please talk to a healthcare professional. In the US you can also call or text 988.
5. Exercise and assumption of risk
Strength training, cardio, sports and changes in diet carry an inherent risk of injury, illness and, in rare cases, death. This is true even when a workout is planned around your restrictions.
Stop exercising immediately if you feel pain, pinching, dizziness, faintness, chest pain or shortness of breath, and get medical help if it doesn't pass. Consult a physician before starting any exercise program, and follow the advice of your doctor, surgeon or physiotherapist over anything in the app.
- You decide which exercises you do, how much weight you use and how hard you push. Use proper form, a spotter or safety equipment where appropriate, and equipment that's in good condition.
- Restrictions you enter (for example “no deep hip flexion”) help the planner avoid certain movements, but the app can't see you, examine you or know everything about your body. It's your responsibility to skip anything that doesn't feel right.
- Pain scores and rehab blocks are tracking tools, not a rehabilitation program prescribed for you.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you voluntarily assume all risks of injury, illness or loss that may result from exercise, sport, diet or supplement use related to your use of Corvyn.
6. AI features and estimates
Some features use artificial intelligence, including food logging from text and photos, workout planning, the recipe builder and the coach chat.
- AI output can be wrong. Calorie and macro estimates, recipe nutrition, workout suggestions and coach replies may be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable for you. Check them, and edit or delete anything that looks off.
- AI results are suggestions. They're added to your log only as new entries or when you choose to apply them.
- The coach is not a doctor, dietitian, physiotherapist or licensed trainer and will not give you medical, legal or professional advice.
- To provide these features we send the text, photos and relevant context you provide to our AI provider. See the Privacy Policy for details.
- AI features have usage limits per plan and per day so the service stays fast and fair for everyone.
7. Your content and crews
Your content
Your logs, recipes, notes, photos, messages and anything else you add (“your content”) remain yours. You give us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, display and transmit your content only as needed to run Corvyn for you, including showing it to crew mates you've chosen to share it with. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in backups that age out on their normal schedule.
You're responsible for your content and confirm that you have the right to add it (for example, that a recipe you paste isn't one you're prohibited from copying).
Crews
Crews are small, private, invite-only groups. Be decent to each other. In a crew, you must not:
- harass, bully, threaten, shame or demean anyone, including about their body, weight or eating;
- post content that is hateful, sexually explicit, violent, or that encourages self-harm, disordered eating or dangerous weight loss;
- share someone else's personal or health information without their permission;
- impersonate anyone, spam, or promote products or services;
- post anything illegal or that infringes someone else's rights.
You can leave a crew, remove or block a member (if you're allowed to manage the crew), and report a note or member from inside the app or by emailing support@corvyn.app. We review reports promptly. We may remove content, remove people from crews, or suspend accounts that break these rules, with or without notice. We don't monitor crews in advance and aren't responsible for what other members post.
8. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we use it, including Apple Health data. We never sell your data and never use health or fitness data for advertising.
9. Subscriptions and billing
Corvyn has a free plan and an optional paid subscription (“Premium”). The features in each plan, and their limits, are described in the app and may change over time.
- Billed by Apple. Subscriptions are purchased through the Apple App Store and charged to your Apple ID. Apple's terms and payment policies also apply to your purchase.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period (monthly or yearly) at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your Apple ID is charged within 24 hours before renewal.
- Free trials. If a free trial is offered, you won't be charged until it ends. If you don't cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you'll be charged. Trials are limited to one per person.
- Cancelling. You can cancel any time in your iPhone's Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Premium until the end of the period you've paid for. Deleting the app or your Corvyn account does not cancel an Apple subscription.
- Refunds. Apple handles all payments and refunds. To request a refund, go to reportaproblem.apple.com or contact Apple Support. We can't issue refunds directly.
- Price changes. If the price changes, we'll tell you in advance, and Apple will ask for your consent where required. If you don't agree, you can cancel before the new price applies.
- Plan limits. Premium includes fair daily limits on AI features. If you hit a limit, the feature becomes available again the next day. Limits exist to keep the service sustainable and aren't a guarantee of a minimum amount of use.
- Beta. During the TestFlight beta, features may be available for free or on a trial basis. That doesn't create a right to free access after the beta ends.
10. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- scrape, crawl, harvest or bulk-download data from the app or our servers, other than through the export feature for your own data;
- copy, modify, decompile, disassemble or reverse engineer the app, except where the law expressly allows it;
- access or attempt to access other people's accounts or data, or probe, scan or test the security of our systems without our written permission;
- circumvent or interfere with plan limits, usage limits, App Attest or any other security or access control;
- use the AI features to generate content unrelated to your own fitness and nutrition, to build a competing product or dataset, to automate requests, or to try to extract our prompts or make the AI behave unsafely;
- resell, sublicense or commercially exploit the service;
- upload malware or anything designed to disrupt or overload the service;
- use Corvyn for anything unlawful or in a way that harms other people.
11. Our app and your licence
Corvyn, including its software, design, text, graphics, logos and name, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual-property laws. Subject to these terms, we give you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on Apple devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. We reserve all rights not expressly granted.
If you send us feedback or ideas, you let us use them without any obligation to you.
12. Third-party services
Corvyn works with services run by other companies, including:
- Apple, for Sign in with Apple, Apple Health (HealthKit), App Attest, push notifications, TestFlight, the App Store and in-app purchases;
- Anthropic, which provides the AI models behind our AI features;
- Supabase, which hosts our database, authentication and server functions;
- any AI assistant you choose to connect yourself, such as Claude or ChatGPT (see section 13);
- and the other providers listed in our Privacy Policy.
Your use of those services may also be governed by their own terms. We aren't responsible for third-party services, and we can't guarantee that they'll always be available or work as expected. Data synced from Apple Health is only as accurate as the devices and apps that recorded it.
13. AI assistants and third-party connections
You can connect Corvyn to an AI assistant made by another company, such as Claude (Anthropic) or ChatGPT (OpenAI), using the Model Context Protocol (MCP). This is off unless you set it up.
- Your choice, your direction. When you approve a connection, you're directing us to share the data you approve with that assistant and to let it log entries on your behalf. You decide whether to connect, which assistant, and whether to include Apple Health data.
- Their service, their terms. Once data reaches the assistant, it's handled under that company's own terms and privacy policy, not ours. We don't control, and aren't responsible for, how a third-party assistant stores, uses or discloses what you share with it, or for its availability or behaviour.
- You're responsible for what it does for you. Anything a connected assistant logs is treated as logged by you. Check its entries, and edit or delete anything that's wrong. Entries it logs are marked as logged by a connected app.
- AI output can be wrong, and it isn't medical, nutritional or professional advice. Section 4 applies to anything an assistant tells you about your data.
- What it can reach is limited. A connected assistant can read your own log, targets, trends, workouts and recipes and log new entries. It can't see your crews or anything friends share with you, change your targets or meal plan, or delete anything other than entries it logged itself.
- You can disconnect at any time in Corvyn under Settings → Connected apps, and in the assistant's own settings. Disconnecting stops new access; it doesn't make the other company delete data it already received. Ask them directly for that.
- We may suspend or limit a connection that misuses the service or harms its security, and we may change or end the connector feature as described in section 14.
14. Beta versions and changes to the service
Beta and pre-release versions may have bugs, missing features and occasional downtime. We're constantly improving Corvyn, so we may add, change or remove features, or change plan contents, at any time. We'll try to give you reasonable notice of changes that significantly affect paid features. We don't promise that the service will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free, and we're not responsible for any loss of data, though we work hard to prevent it and you can export your data at any time.
15. Suspension and termination
- You can stop using Corvyn and delete your account at any time from Settings.
- We may suspend or close your account, or remove content, if you break these terms, if your use creates risk or legal exposure for us or others, or if required by law. Where reasonable, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to export your data.
- We may discontinue Corvyn entirely. If we do, we'll give you advance notice and a way to export your data.
- Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including 4–7, 11 and 15–21, survive.
16. Disclaimer of warranties
Corvyn is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement and accuracy. We don't warrant that the app, its estimates, AI output, workouts or meal plans will be accurate, safe for you, or meet your needs, or that the service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free.
Some jurisdictions don't allow certain warranties to be excluded, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.
17. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Corvyn and its owners, employees, contractors and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or for personal injury, illness or property damage arising from exercise, diet, supplement use or reliance on any information in the app, however caused and under any theory of liability, even if we were told such damages were possible.
Our total liability for all claims relating to Corvyn or these terms is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid for Corvyn in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) US $50.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as liability for gross negligence, fraud or wilful misconduct, or your rights under consumer-protection laws that apply to you.
18. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Corvyn and its owners, employees and contractors from any claims, damages, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your breach of these terms, your violation of anyone else's rights, or your misuse of the service.
19. Governing law and disputes
- Talk to us first. Most problems can be fixed quickly. Before starting any formal claim, email support@corvyn.app describing the issue, and give us 30 days to try to resolve it informally.
- Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York and applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
- Where disputes are heard. Any dispute that isn't resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of New York, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small-claims court if it qualifies.
- Time limit. To the extent permitted by law, any claim must be brought within one year after it arises.
20. Apple App Store terms
If you downloaded Corvyn from the Apple App Store, you and we also acknowledge that:
- these terms are between you and us only, not Apple, and we (not Apple) are solely responsible for the app and its content;
- your licence to use the app is limited to Apple-branded products you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions;
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app;
- if the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app;
- we, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the app, including product-liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and claims under consumer-protection, privacy or similar laws, including in connection with HealthKit;
- we, not Apple, are responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of any claim that the app infringes a third party's intellectual-property rights;
- you represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties;
- you must comply with applicable third-party terms (such as your wireless data agreement) when using the app;
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and, once you accept them, may enforce them against you.
21. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Corvyn changes or as the law requires. We'll update the effective date above and, for material changes, tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using Corvyn after the changes take effect, you accept the new terms. If you don't agree, stop using the app and delete your account.
22. General
- These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any terms shown at purchase, are the entire agreement between you and us about Corvyn.
- If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect, and the unenforceable part will be applied as closely to its intent as the law allows.
- If we don't enforce a right right away, we haven't waived it.
- You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent. We may transfer ours as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, with notice to you.
- We aren't liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
- Headings are for convenience only.
23. Contact
